Budd is an English brand, which was established in 1910. It offers bespoke, made-to-measure and ready-to-wear shirts; all of them are manufactured in England. Budd shirts feature traditional non-fused collars, removable collar stays, side gussets, single-needle stitching, split yokes (cut NOT on the bias) and thin mother-of-pearl buttons (usually sewn by machines, without shanks; if you order a bespoke shirt, they can sew them on by hand / by request). There is no hand-stitching, but the fabric is cut by hand.
Budd often uses high-quality shirtings from Alumo (genuine 2-ply – 2×2, Made in Switzerland, Oeko-Tex Standard 100, extra-long staple Egyptian cotton). Besides, Budd also uses Acorn, Testa Atelier Romentino, Albini, Thomas Mason and Monti fabrics. Yarn numbers: 100 – 170. There are shirts made of certified Sea Island cotton too. Some shirts are made of Irish linen fabrics, wool + cotton and 85% cotton + 15% cashmere fabrics.
