Eton is a Swedish label, which specialises in shirts. It was established by David and Annie Pettersson in 1928. Most Eton shirts are made in Lithuania, Romania and Estonia. They feature single-needle stitching (7-8 stitches per 1 cm.), pulverised MOP buttons (shanked). No gussets, no hand-stitching. Yokes are non-split. Sleeves are sewn on as usual. Collar stays are non-removable. There are several lines/collections of shirts: Collection (dress shirts), Green (casual shirts), Unbuttoned (business casual shirts) and Evening (formal shirts). Besides, there is a DnA line. Eton DnA shirts are very expensive, but they feature thick mother-of-pearl buttons, removable mother-of-pearl collar stays, split yokes and seams with 9 stitches per 1 cm. DnA shirts are made in Sweden.
Eton uses extra-long staple cotton (from the USA and Egypt), linen and cotton+linen fabrics. They are usually wrinkle resistant, and it must be noted that this is an absolutely safe easy care finish (chemicals are not used, the finish is applied in Switzerland). All fabrics are 2-ply (2×2, probably except linen ones). Eton shirts are offered in a wide variety of patterns and colours. Patterns: checks, polka dots, stripes, flowers, palm trees, herringbone, houndstooth, paisley, fancy and geometric prints. Weaves: twill, poplin, dobby, pique, oxford, denim, jacquard.
Sizes: 35 – 51 cm. (i.e. 13.5 – 20 in). Besides, there are shirts with extra long sleeves (please note that regular (i.e. not long) Eton shirts have quite long sleeves (they are longer than average). Fits: super slim, slim, contemporary, classic. Barrel and French cuffs. Fused and non-fused collars. Collar shapes: cutaway, wing, tab, high cutaway, extreme cutaway, pin, button-down, semi-spread. Short and long sleeves.
