Drake’s shirts

Drake’s is an English brand, which specialises in ties, scarves and pocket squares. However, Drake’s also offers shirts; the company owns a shirt factory in the UK (it used to produce shirts under Cleeve of London brand). All Drakes shirts are made in England. They usually feature non-fused collars, single-needle stitching, non-split yokes (sometimes split yokes), side gussets, thin mother-of-pearl buttons (MOP comes from Australia), removable collar stays. The brands uses 100% cotton, linen + cotton and 100% linen fabrics (sometimes Irish linen). There is no hand-stitching. Sleeves are sewn on as usual. Some Drake’s shirts have chest pockets (usually one), box pleat and a locket loop.

Drake’s shirts are offered in a variety of solid colours and shades: light blue, white, blue, navy, khaki green, olive. Striped and checked shirts are available as well (for example, bengal stripes, gingham checks; by the way, Drake’s offers shirts with horizontal stripes too). Weaves: oxford, poplin, chambray, denim. Buttoned cuffs (rounded). Collars: spread, button-down, grandad, cutaway, semi-spread. Sizes: 14.5 – 17.5 in. (= 37 – 44 cm). Slim fit, regular fit.
