Rubinacci is a Neapolitan menswear brand established by Gennaro Rubinacci in 1932. It creates bespoke suits, jackets, shirts and accessories. Ready-to-wear shirts are available too. Of course, all Rubinacci shirts are manufactured in Italy. They’re made of 100% cotton fabrics (sometimes washed cotton fabrics). Thick buttons are made of Australian mother-of-pearl. They’re hand-sewn and shanked. There are several other hand passages too (collar, armholes, buttonholes, gussets, bar tacks/joists). However, pique shirts are entirely machine-sewn (incl. buttons). Rubinacci shirts feature single-needle stitching and removable collar stays. Yokes are non-split.
The range of ready-to-wear shirts is narrow. Colours: blue, pink, white, burgundy, stone, forest green. Most (or even all) RTW shirts are solids. Weaves: end-on-end, chambray, pique. Ready-to-wear Rubinacci shirts are available in sizes XS – XXL. Slim fit (be careful, because some Rubinacci shirts fit small-to-size). Button cuffs. Collars: spread, semi-spread. Some Rubinacci shirts have pockets.
You can purchase Rubinacci ready-to-wear shirts at Rubinacci shops (Milan, Naples, London) or at MrPorter.com or MarianoRubinacci.net. Prices start at 162 GBP (VAT excluded). MrPorter.com puts these shirts on sales twice a year (up to 70% off).
