John Smedley is an English knitwear brand founded in 1784. John Smedley socks are manufactured in England. The brand uses so-called John Smedley’s Sea Island cotton (this is not genuine Sea Island cotton certified by WISICA, but I must say that this is a very nice material, definitely extra-long staple cotton). Most socks are made of 78% cotton + 22% polyamide. Besides, some John Smedley socks are made of 78% extra fine merino wool + 22% polyamide; the most expensive socks are made of 66% cotton + 12% cashmere + 22% polyamide. Unfortunately, all John Smedley socks are mid-calf (there are no knee-high socks). They have hand-linked toes.
John Smedley socks are offered in a quite wide range of colours: black, purple, grey, brown, charcoal, indigo, skyline blue, midnight blue, etc. Most socks are solids, but there are striped socks too. Sizes: S/M and M/L (fit UK6 – UK11). You can purchase John Smedley socks at JohnSmedley.com, SockShop.co.uk, MrPorter.com. Prices start at 15 GBP (incl. VAT). Sometimes these socks are available with a small discount (up to 30%).
