Bonfanti is an Italian mill, which specialises in high quality shirtings. It was founded in 1995 – by Giancarlo Bonfanti (the nephew of then owner of Fermo Fossati / Carlo Riva). Bonfanti factory is based in Lecco (Lombardy; near Lake Como). All Bonfanti shirtings are manufactured in Italy. Most Bonfanti fabrics are genuine 2-ply (2×2). Yarn numbers: 120 – 300. There are 90 cm. and 150 cm. width fabrics. Some fabrics are woven on old slow looms.
Bonfanti uses extra-long staple cotton from Egypt (Giza 45, Giza 87), Supima cotton, certified Sea Island cotton, linen (linen+cotton – 1:1). Weaves: voile, poplin, twill, zephyr, panama. Solid colour, checked and striped shirtings. It must be noted that Bonfanti sells its fabrics to individuals via its online shop.
