Clogs may be the preferred footwear of nurses, chefs, and dancing milkmaids, but this season, they’re getting a decidedly designer update. Thanks to the smart styling choices of Miuccia Prada, Karl Lagerfeld, and Marc Jacobs, these traditional Dutch soles are transformed with sturdy platform heels, pretty satin microprints, and metal studs on the side. The result of all this tinkering is a totally fresh and chic look. And while some of...

There was much cause for celebration during the 82nd Annual Academy Awards on Sunday night—like when Jeff Bridges (“El Duderino”) accepted his much-deserved statue, Sandra Bullock’s sweet speech, and Kathryn Bigelow’s history-making wins—but for us, the biggest moments aren’t usually linked to the show itself. While the rest of the world watches and waits for the winners to be announced, we’re...

While you can never have too many monochromatic closet staples, the WhoWhatWear.com staff has a serious crush on clothing that makes a bold statement. Last spring, we noticed a preponderance of fashion-forward femmes who were trying the Tribal Punk trend: think ethnic prints paired with loads of leather and studs. Of course, prints are huge news for spring as well, but we are…  Read More →

When musing upon the topic of pastels, we invariably imagine one of two items: cotton candy or Easter eggs. Yes, dear readers, the images that come to mind are sweet foodstuffs and odd seasonal rituals, neither of which is exactly known for being the epitome of coolness. But these immediate associations are finally being challenged, thanks to a fresh beauty look from Proenza Schouler’s S/S 10 show and the intriguing interpretations of...

They say that fashion is cyclical and that everything comes back (hello, power shoulders and hippie headgear!), but who knew the turnaround would be so fast! You see, dear readers, around this time last year, your trusty WhoWhatWear.com editors reported on an exciting new spring trend: New Nudes . And while that was then and this is now, this pale palette still feels decidedly fresh and evergreen this season. From blush to beige to ecru and...

If there is a more enchanting story than Alice in Wonderland , especially for the fashion community at large, we dare you to prove it. The Lewis Carroll-penned fantasy’s wildly original world and iconic characters—including a perpetually tardy, pocket watch-wearing White Rabbit, a hookah-smoking Caterpillar, and a shouty Queen of Hearts who’s obsessed with the color red—is so over-the-top outrageous, it’s no wonder...

Chloe Sevigny won’t leave us alone. Oh, it’s not her fault, of course, but between her star-turn on Big Love (the show is currently in the middle of season four), spring’s braid trend (which never fails to remind us of her BL character, Nicolette Grant), and repeatedly intriguing red-carpet wardrobe choices (like the lilac Valentino gown she wore to the Globes), we can’t get her out of our heads. Not that this is a bad...

Erin Wasson’s proverbial plate is very full. Not only is the supermodel-stylist-designer still digesting the heaps of press and praise she received for her third RVCA collaboration (which she showed to a packed-house of industry insiders during NYFW), but she’s also expanding her design empire. The muse-du-monde whipped up a new 25-piece jewelry collection for spring—LowLuv by Erin Wasson—comprised of cool necessities...

Accordingly, we’re delighted to present our monthly Who What Wear: Styling Tips...

Though much about Nicole Richie has changed over the years—she’s gone from blonde to brunette and back a half dozen times, settled down and had two children, and published a best-selling book—one thing remains the same: her instantly recognizable and oft-imitated modern bohemian personal style. Given her fashion-icon status and super successful jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960, it was a natural progression for Richie to throw...

They say you can never have too much of a good thing, and we couldn’t agree more—especially when it comes to a double dose of New York Fashion Week outfit coverage! You see, we gathered so many looks that we couldn’t help but share our findings with our equally enthralled enthusiasts du chic (that’s you dear readers!) in this second serving of our biannual What They Wore story! Whether it’s Rachel Zoe’s marvelous...

Though we would never attempt to divine what will be shown on New York’s most notable runways, there is one thing we can always count on: our favorite fashionable femmes will undoubtedly knock our socks off with their impeccable ensembles. Of course, this F/W 10 season did not disappoint, as we saw loads of inspirational looks at parties, presentations, and the Bryant Park shows. Whether it was Gaia Repossi’s shimmering sheath or...

In our monthly Model Off Duty stories, we always try to find some sort of uniting theme in the spotlighted subject’s personal style. Some girls are super austere and others are whimsical, but there are few who are quite like today’s muse—Anne Vyalitsyna, a.k.a. Anne V. With her playful taste in fashion, perpetually changing beauty look, and gorgeous figure that is beloved by everyone (from fashion designers to the dudes who...

While my fall look was all about un-basic black on black, this spring I’m excited to take a note from some of my favorite runway shows and infuse my wardrobe with some lighter pieces. I particularly loved the sophisticated looks from Preen’s S/S 10 show, including all of the gauzy tops and dresses that were toughened up with bandage details and black lace. Of course I’m updating my wardrobe essentials, which…  Read More →

Every season I make a little wish list of all the things I’m currently craving and use these items to incentivize my behavior. For example: the super cool aqua Jason Wu Seberg sunglasses I adore won’t be mine unless I log 60 miles on the treadmill in a month. If I want to get the Miss December jacket from Nonoo Lyons I’ve had my eye on for months, I’ll have to stick to my goal of making dinner or lunch at home five days...
